Standard Location Setups
The are two standard type of setups (or form factors) on location based entertainment VR market:
- Virtual reality arcade machine with HTC Vive system for casual gaming; usually it’s intended for up to 4 people
- Advanced setup for comprehensive content features full-body tracking; usually it’s for group of 6 to 8 people playing together with VR backpacks.
We have them standardised into two basic hardware setups form factors: PlayVR for casual gaming and Polygon for advanced experience. We’ve thoroughly tested and selected hardware components to come up with specs that perfectly fits the Platform and which you can rely on.
PlayVR Form Factor
PlayVR is the basic hardware setup for the Platform – virtual reality arcade machine for public spaces: cinemas, family entertainment centers, shopping malls or any other attraction points.
In PlayVR location a customer chooses a game and puts a headset on, moves freely, takes objects, and uses them in virtual worlds.
The setup supports one to four players at the same time that play together within a location.
The platform works also with possible to build a non-standard location suitable for more than 4 players with game zone arrange in a various way: for instance not only as a square but in a row.
PlayVR setup consists of following hardware:
HTC VIVE or VIVE PRO Virtual Reality System – 1 to 4 or even more depending on the size of the game area.
Game computers are responsible for starting games and showing video when games are not being launched.
Server computer hosts the serving control app. It manages and monitors location work, and provides digital posters and TV panel management. The location administrator can choose content to show on these TVs, enable technical breaks, etc.
TV panels are connected to each computer, displaying game progress or video files when games are stopped.
Digital poster TV is installed on location to show all games available with prices.

The setup can be scaled from the minimum package (1 VR headsets, 1 game PCs, 2 TV panels, 1 digital poster TV, no server) to the optimal package (4 VR headsets, 4 game PCs, several TV-panels and digital poster TVs, server, LTE modem).
